In the U.S. there are some atheists who pray. Recalling my earlier post about the “nones,” i.e., people who claim no religious affiliation, a friend tweeted me a link to a Huffington Post article about praying atheists, (at least some pray from time to time). The article supports the conjecture that the importance of religious belief in the U.S. continues to decline, especially among the young, whereas craving for belonging, serenity, and a purpose for living remains strong.
