The Alternatives to Violence Project was started by Quakers in 1975 to help inmates in prisons deal with conflicts without resorting to violence. Although AVP has been run mainly in prisons it has been adapted for community groups too. The video below was filmed by an AVP team in Australia who adapted the basic curriculum for interfaith participants. Since inter-religious conflict is increasing in many parts of the world, community groups devoted to peacemaking might learn from the workshops portrayed in this video:
